Revision Adult Idiopathic Scoliosis Female

Case Information

52-year-old female with adult idiopathic scoliosis.
Patient had her thoracic scoliosis fused when she was young with Harrington instrumentation.
Patient developed degeneration in the lower lumbar spine with spinal stenosis.
The degeneration of the lower lumbar spine gave her back pain and the spinal stenosis gave her leg pain. She failed all non-operative measures.
An anterior fusion of the lower lumbar spine was performed to get the correction where she is bent forward so she can stand straight again. One can see the disc spaces are filled bone graft and her lordosis (swayback) has been corrected.
Posteriorly patient had a decompression laminectomy to relieve her stenosis (pressure on the nerves), as well as, posterior instrumentation fusion to fuse her lower lumbar spine to the pelvis.
