Adult Idiopathic Scoliosis

Case Information

67 year old female with adult idiopathic scoliosis previously fused as an adolescent with Harrington Rod instrumentation in 1964 and a lumbar decompression 20 years ago.
Has buttock pain and feels like her legs give away while walking.
Injection, physical therapy, and antiinflammatory medications provided no relief.
X-rays show loss of lumbar lordosis, a fused flat thoracic spine, and proximal junctional kyphosis
Post-operative clinical photographs show improved ability to stand upright, improved symmetry of the low back
